Catfish Pirates/AMVETS Gathering and Tournament Benefiting the Veterans

The catfish pirates and amvets post 12 will be hosting a huge gathering at prairie creek reservoir on may 27th, 2023. The gathering starts at 2pm once the riders from the benefit bike ride make their last stop at this gathering. The bike ride is tied into this event and details will be posted later. The gathering consist of a hog roasts but there will be other meat options and sides. The food is free and the public is welcome! Anyone coming are asked to bring a side dish or dessert along with a chair to set in. We will have the first shelter house down by the beach area near the road along with a huge tent. We will hand out tickets for free door prizes drawings There will also be some raffles and a 50/50. Last year we had 134 sponsors local and nation wide! This gathering will end by 6pm and our sign in for the tournament will start shortly after down at the boat launch parking area. Last year we signed people up on the hill side parking area off the gravel road across from the parking lot. Look for us there first! There will be a captains meeting at 7pm to go over all the rules and one person from each team must be present at this meeting. No early sign ins! The tournament will start at 8pm and end at 8am the next morning on the 28th of May with a weigh in and awards ceremony. All fish are released alive back into prairie creek! No stringers allowed and must have a live well, portable live well, keep sack or a floating cage. The cost of tournament is $80 per each boat team and $60 per each bank team. 50% of tournament money collected goes directly to the veterans and the remaining 50% will go back into the tournament. Catfish Pirates/Amvets are putting up the guaranteed 1st place and big fish payouts. First place guaranteed for the boat teams is $2,000 and 1st place for bank teams is $500. Guaranteed big fish payout to the winning boat team is $500 and the guaranteed big fish to the winning bank team is $250! Last year we raised $5,000 for our local Veterans in need!
